I used vanilla bean paste. I also used just one kind of brown sugar (all I had), and lightly packed it (the recipe didn’t say so I had to guess). I ran out of chocolate chips, so mixed in chocolate chunks. I had less than the recipe called for but that’s okay. I also think I made them smaller than stated, but they still turned out big and fluffy and fabulous. One thing I really love about these is that they’re sweet but not overbearingly so. My new go-to.

Then, I made them without nuts, swapped peanut butter chips for walnuts, and again–everyone who had a cookie said they were the best they’ve ever had! Wow! Best cookie ever–look no further!! I love this site!! Thank you so much!

You don’t have to add extra flour to make thick cookies, extra flour makes them less flavorful. Based on science and experience this will make cake like cookies unless you underbake bake them. Most recipes will be soft if you underbake them. Thanks for sharing your cookie making thoughts.

I followed the directions and they came out great. I cooked every batch for 8 minutes and then let them cool on my insulated cookie sheet for three minutes before moving to my cooling racks. I have given out the recipe and have made around 8 batches in the last two months. I get requests daily. I would like to know if you have a double chocolate chip walnut recipe.
